From the moment we arrived at badgers holt the day before our wedding Emma and Simon welcomed in and we felt like family.
The bridal room was so beautiful with a roll top bath, the most amazing floor and best of all a lovely view of the river.
Our wedding at badgers holt was incredible, the venue was beautiful, Simon and Emma were always there to support us which meant our day flowed and ran very smoothly.
Emma and Simon did so much for us during our stay with Simon even lending the groom his cuff links for the big day. Emma was very helpful and helped us decide the order of the day and table lay out. The Badgers holt team could not of done more for us and really made the day special!

Like everyone, we found planning our wedding day to be a very stressful experience. This all melted away when the big day arrived however, due to the care and diligence of Emma and her team. Badgers Holt was the perfect venue, and allowed for a bespoke experience without the worry of having to plan every tiny detail ourselves. Everything went smoothly, and we were able to just focus on having the best day ever. The venue and décor generate a wonderful and welcoming vibe, and the stunning location provides something for everyone’s taste. Even while we nipped off for a photoshoot at the top of the valley, the guests were well looked after and enjoyed their time soaking up the autumn sun and enjoying the scenery.
Emma is always asking questions and making sure the day is tailored to your taste, without being overbearing. Some venues may push for you to subscribe to a certain image or style, but we had free reign to make the space fit us. She is endlessly helpful, and very personable which makes the planning so much more fun. Our guests couldn’t believe how fantastic the venue was, and even as regulars we were amazed by how beautifully it all came together. We thank Badgers Holt from the bottom of our hearts for creating with us the most iconic wedding ever.

We cannot recommend getting married at The Badgers Holt enough…a truly stunning setting. Emma & Simon made our day perfect & went above & beyond with the thoughtful touches & were so caring & tentative towards our guests. We had great communication with Emma in the lead up to the big day, she always answered all our questions quickly & made us feel comfortable asking anything. Emma was the same on the day, so thoughtful, nothing we asked was too much. She also gave the photographer a great tip of where to get photos on a nearby beautiful tor. The venue itself is gorgeous.
We were pleased to have overcast weather as the lights outside shone perfectly & added to the special Dartmoor atmosphere, made all the better by the beautiful peacocks & hens roaming freely. Inside we ate by a log fire, surrounded by fairy lights. It was like a dream! Thank you so much to Emma & Simon for going above & beyond, for giving us a truly incredible wedding day. We cannot thank you enough for giving us the wedding that was beyond our wildest dreams. It was perfect and so much more! We cannot wait to visit again & stay in your gorgeous accommodation

I don’t even know where to begin. People say you often feel a bit low once everything is over, I literally cannot relate. We have spent every minute reliving what felt like the most seamless perfect and magical day and that was truly down to your venue and the way you guys run the place. One of the highlights was definitely being escorted over under a huge parasol umbrella in the torrential rain past the goats that had escaped! Who said rain had to ruin anybody’s fun!!
All of our guests were blown away with the venue and decor and couldn’t believe it when I told them pretty much none of it was anything to do with me!! It was just the way you have the venue decorated on the regular!!! The twinkling fairy lights, the neon love sign, the gorgeous cake stand, the Prosecco glasses, all the greenery hanging from the ceiling…. I could go on FOREVER!!! Every single supplier you recommended were absolutely fantastic, we already have the preview pics from Danielle. They are just gorgeous!!! Would love the videos, really enjoying seeing different perspectives of such a great day!

My husband and I had the most amazing wedding day at Badger’s Holt in August 2022, it was everything we could have wished for and more. When looking for a location for our wedding ceremony as like many couple we had a list of things we were looking for, and as soon as we visited Badger’s Holt on the first occasion within moments we both knew this was the location for us. From the amazing scenery, serene calm, the trickling of the river this was our location desires summed up in one special place. Emma and her family where amazing hosts who keep us up to date all the way through the process leading up to the day, even being willing to help us out on a whim when popping in as we were in the area on occasion, then keeping the day its-self running seamlessly throughout. Having been able
to book all the on-site accommodation for both families and friends for both the night before and night of the ceremony, this allowed the celebration to last over a couple days, with Emma allowing us the freedom to introduce families and friends to one another the day before the ceremony in a completely relaxed atmosphere, which we feel led perfectly into the day of the ceremony.
All our guests were blown away by the stunning location, the chilled and relaxed atmosphere and
the friendliness of Emma and her family, not only organizing the day but also helping entertain the
younger guests. We were lucky to have had the sun shining for the ceremony but also have the moon and the stars in
the evening to share our reception with our guest in the beautifully lit grounds along with all the twinkly lights and candles inside. Badgers’ Holt really is a hidden gem and we have been so lucky to have had our special day there filled with so much love and laughter. We will cherish the memories of our day at this truly spectacular venue. We can’t thank Emma and her family enough for all they did for our wedding and how special they made it.

We had our wedding at badgers holt with our family and friends in Aug 22. Everyone absolutely loved it, we all had the most amazing day. The setting itself is beautiful with the rustic feel venue perfectly decorated, beautiful river and lush grounds, not to mention the wildlife. Our catering was fantastic and we made sure our chef was thanked. Biggest shout out to Emma and her family though for hosting the event, our guests were so well looked after, they absolutely made sure everything was perfect and smooth. Our accommodation was fantastic and we cant thank badgers holt enough. If you are looking for a venue a urge you to go take a look and meet with Emma and her suppliers! Thank you again Emma and team.

A week ago today I married my best friend and sole mate at Badgers Holt and had the most perfect day. After searching for wedding venues I came across this venue and knew the location so started to get excited. On speaking to Emma I knew I needed to wait for restrictions to change so we could view the venue and as I thought it was perfect. Emma’s attention to detail, reassurance and help was amazing and nothing was too much from day one- we managed to book our photographer through Emma and had the florist we were hoping for all from attending the open event. Every time I spoke or heard from Emma I felt relaxed and looked after.
The day arrived and wow I was blown away with all the little touches and surprises and immediately felt like a queen. Emma and Bez went above and beyond with the most amazing hospitality and relaxed approach but one which was so attentive. My guests, family and friends have all shared stories of how amazing not only the day was but the venue and owners and I agree and am still in the most perfect bubble ever. The food also was amazing and everything I could ask for and we was so well looked after in so many ways you would not believe. My perfect day was made a reality and I’m so grateful and will be enjoying the venue for many more years to come. I can not recommend them enough and Emma and Bez thank you from the bottom of my heart

When most people look back on their weddings, they say "It was perfect," even though things very likely didn't go to plan. However, with the help of Emma and the ridiculously friendly Badgers Holt team, our wedding truly was perfect. From start to finish, Emma helped ensure the day ran smoothly and as the bride, I didn't have to think about a thing. What's more, being from New Zealand, Emma was extremely helpful when trying to organise a wedding from across the other side of the world. Without having seen the venue, tasted the food, seen the accommodation, have any rehearsals or ever really understand the layout of the place and how the day would work, we put an immense amount of faith in Emma and the team - and they didn't disappoint. The venue was stunning, the food was complimented by everyone and the flexibility to run the day the way we wanted to, meant it was perfect.

Honestly we couldn't have asked for better host, you honestly did so much to help us leading up to the day and on the day you were all amazing, your children were all so polite and we really really appreciated you clearing everything away for us! "We had the best day of our lives at Badgers Holt. It is a truly magical place. I cannot imagine a more perfect venue for a wedding ceremony and reception. Located right by the river, the scenery is breathtaking. The rooms are also beautifully decorated, with large windows, so in both sunshine and rain we were still able to enjoy the beautiful setting.
Emma and her family are lovely people and were wonderful hosts. Organising the event was a smooth and straightforward experience. Emma considered everything, from the big to the small, to make sure we had what we needed and wanted for our celebrations. She was thoughtful, making sure that we and our guests were comfortable and at ease throughout the weekend stay.
Absolutely everything on the day exceeded my expectations. The way the space was setup was ideal for our intimate and relaxed wedding and ceremony, with the roaming peacocks and chickens adding additional character. The floristry was completely incredible. The arch we were married in front of was impressively crafted with spring flowers in free-flowing forms and complemented the wonderful bouquet and floral crowns. The catering throughout the day was also fantastic, including the vegan options.
We enjoyed walks by the river and up on to the moors, with amazing views, before and after the ceremony. I am sure we will return again and again, for both the location and venue, to mark future special occasions. In other words, I could not recommend Badgers Holt more highly."

My partner and I got married here on 16/09/2022 and had the most amazing day. We never thought that we'd choose the first and only venue that we visited, but we fell in love with it straight away at an open day in 2021! We loved that Badgers Holt is located in the middle of Dartmoor, surrounded by nature, including lots of cute animals on the grounds, and a picturesque river alongside it. The venue itself was perfect for a rustic, autumn wedding (with our own alternative/gothic touches added!). It feels intimate and cosy inside, with lovely views of the grounds and river through the large glass doors that we got married in front of. There's also the option of having the ceremony outside.
We booked both our ceremony and reception here, which was exactly what we were hoping for, we wanted everyone to be able to stay in the same place all day/night. We stayed overnight in their honeymoon suite, which is lovely and recently redecorated. We were in regular contact with Emma & the team up until the wedding day, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were made to feel so comfortable and welcome every time we visited, Emma was our main contact and she is SO lovely - very professional but also like a caring friend the best combination. We had a few problems with suppliers, and Emma was always keen to try and help us solve any of the issues. She/ the team were also available and very helpful on the day itself. We hope to be able to come back and visit as we love it there so much!
